Some Sun Set

Some fairly recent sun sets I'm posting after some processing.

This time I managed to be out on site in time before the sun managed to set behind the horizon!

This one came out a bit over the top with the colors but I decided to keep it like that nad the water looks a bit weird after merging the seven exposures...

Took the car out to a spot where I haven't been before to do HDR:s, Finnäset.

The calm weather allowed all the pollen stay on the water surface, but it looks pretty good anyway.

This was actually on the way out on to the peninsula had to try capture the light in the woods. Thankful for the non existent wind. =)

A final shot before the sun disappeared behind the mountains...

Captured a couple of Northern Pikes in their act, I could hear the splashing a long time before I managed to spot them, they didn't take much notice of me. :)

December shots.

24:th December, amazing winter day! Too bad I was too lazy to get out and make some more shots...
Around -15 degrees...
Now the days are getting longer, not by much but still!
My youngest sisters first self-made knitted socks! Shows that she has knitted before. =)
X-mas mood shot.
Happy Holidays!

Went to Grängesberg today for a visit, my brother and his girlfriend was visiting, they arrived yesterday from Stockholm, today arrived his girlfriends mother from Orsa. With me I had my sister from Gubbo. =)

Mum's orchids still bloomed. Perfect subject to calibrate camera on. ;)
Marit and Hanna doing crafts. Bracelets apparently.
Juha preparing food for the BBQ.
Hanna concentrated working on the pearls.
My brother did a fine job with the BBQ spits!
Meat on the grill!
My mother got a gift from Marits mother.
Juha took over the BBQ:ing so I could take some photos.
Time to eat!
My plate.
Hanna's plate.
It was simply delicious!
Checking out the results from the crafting.
It had been cloudy and raining, suddenly the sun came out, just before it was about to set.
After digesting the food for a couple of hours and some talking it was time to go home. Hanna demonstrated a Android app that just display the current speed, here in the HUD-mode, pretty cool actually! It's called SpeedView.
Now, time to sleep!

Brenzier attempt.

Testing something that apparently called "The Brenzier method". It's to shoot a lot of shots with a large aperture lens (preferably a tele lens) and then stitch the images to create a complete photo.

To mimic the look of medium format or large format photography, the method is widely known by the work of Ryan Brenizer.

I made a try with my Nikon D90 and the 180mm Tamron macro set to f3.5:

I used 47 photos to cover the whole car, stitched to one image in Photoshop. A lot of strange perspective errors in the photos but it's just for test. Wish I'd had camera dolly too keep everything in plane. =)

Holy moly!!!

Got my monthly petrol bill in my Internet bank today, got a small chock when I saw the sum, 71 054:- Sek!!!

Luckily there is a possibility to see the invoice and that calmed me down! :)
A slightly more realistic 710,54:- Sek.

We'll see if I have to call the company or if they will take the invoice back, or perhaps it's just me who got the comma sign misplaced...

Sthlm rd trp...

Way past due we (me and mum) finally made a trip to visit my brother, Juha and his girlfriend, Marit. I hadn't seen the new apartment they moved in to after I helped them to move their furniture to the previous apartment.

I got up early on Saturday morning to go get my mum in Grängesberg. There had been some snow fall during the night. :(
As if that wasn't bad enough it got worse while approaching Grängesberg!
Luckily the roads dried up fast and by the time we passed Fagersta the roads were moist free!

We made it! But as usual it took a few detours, thought I got hang of where the apartment was located and how to get there the shortest way, well, good thing there were no specific time we had to be there. :)

Living room / bedroom.
Door to the balcony.
The studio/sewing room.
Since we came by car we took the opportunity to go to Rusta and buy some stuff for the balcony, a foldable table and two chairs. A bonus mat was also bought. =)
Result after the pimping.
Everybody admires the result!
The green stuff also got some new living place.
All that work must had been exhausting since we all were very tired in the evening and I think most people were sleeping before midnight! I slept til 8:30 despite that, by 10:30 we were on our way back home.

It was nice to meet Juha and Marit and too see the new apartment! Thanks for the taco dinner! :)

That time again...

Switched tires on my Swift, then on my moms Micra. Switching to summer tires after spike tires always feels better than the other way around! The nice weather didn't bother much either. :)

Can't say I'm fully recovered from the cold yet, sweated more than usual bouncing tires, couldn't keep my self from washing the car despite it, just a quick hose down. Must use rubbing next time and put on some wax, the surface feels almost like sandpaper, and that's after the wash...

Went and bought new windscreen wipers to the Micra, instead of a lot of adapters there was a universal adapter on the new wiper, the instructions really sucked and it took a while before I got the hang of how it was supposed to be used.

Usually I can figure out how stuff is supposed to work quite fast but this one was a challenge! Must been constructed by the same fellow who constructed the mechanics in a video player! ;)

Last weekend...

On my way to Grängesberg last weekend I drove up to Ljungåsen, it's a ski center in the middle of the woods, my mum said that it might look nice there after all the snow.

Turned out she was right! :)

I recommend full screen view.

Regret I didn't bring the tripod for some HDR-shots...

Silly cone!

It's not this cone the blog entry title refers too, keep going! =)
Took the car to the harbour a few minutes during lunch hour, were about to go out biking but a meeting after lunch ruined those plans. :/
Did manage to take some photos anyway, maybe not so good but photos non the less!
Always a tree blocking the view!
Power plant on over-drive in the cold.
There's distortion in the atmosphere, looks like hot air but I doubt it.
Keeping the pennant high in the cold.
Long time, no wash...
Well, now it's time for the silicone, bought new contact lenses today, finally getting rid of the foggy glasses. Apparently silicone based contacts "breath" better so I hope they irritate my eye less than regular contact do.
I hope the weather is nice tomorrow too, today the forecast said it was all grey with an overcast, just like you saw on the photos. ;)
