Obnox Stomp

Never heard about this guy, John Fairhurst, searched for some DJ called Miss Dilemma on Spotify and out of pure accident this tune, Obnox Stop, starts to play and I couldn't sit still any more. :)

From a record called Acoustic Chillout with various artist, the other tunes don't seem to be that good...



Could be the knife that speaks to my Finnish heritage? ;)

Apparently it's the same director who directed Cloverfield. I like the track in the trailer, by a group named Placebo. (Had to check them out on Spotify...)

The Catalogue has landed!

Finally after several attempts UPS managed on Monday deliver my packet containing The Catalogue by Kraftwerk + bonus T-shirt and a extra T-shirt on the "side". :)

The agony to watch the incompetence displayed by UPS was unbearable, specially since the first delivery attempt was done on Thursday and they claimed that my address was not found!?!

Both called and mailed UPS a new delivery address and my mobile phone number and still on Friday they tried to deliver to the first address and failed again! They didn't even give me a call!

So I had to wait the whole weekend, time I could have used to listen to the CD:s, before I got my hands on the packet! Unfortunately I have not had the time to listen to the all the CD:s yet but the ones I have listened too sounds fantastic! well spent money! =)

The package is the most elaborate one I ever had the fortune to handle when it comes to CD-boxes and the booklets are pure art! Everything is crafted with German precision, as can be seen on the video. Took a few attempts before I got the hang of how to get the CD out of the pocket! After that it was a breeze.

Sometimes three strings is enough...

Some times one gets unexpected surprises, like when I watched Top Gear, BBC car show, and that weeks driver of "a reasonably priced car" walked up to the sofa. The dude looked like bum but when he played a few notes on a three stringed guitar made of hubcaps from a Morris Minor I was impressed! Not to mention the video they show on the show! Love that Fuzzbox(?), distorted sound.

Have I mentioned I like ZZ-top too. :)

Kraftværk!

Last Saturday I attended Kraftwerks concert at Vaerket in Randers, Denmark.

Kraftwerk used for the third time their 3D show and everyone got a air of special glasses at the entry. The effects were really cool but I suppose one should have been further back to really get the best of the effects.

Only thing that was a bit disappointing was the fact that Pocket Calculator was no longer a part of the concert. Don't know if they ditched it for the new show or if it was something they left out just during this concert...

Ear+Eye Candy!

As expected I got the second box of stuff today, went to the post office this time the box looked larger and when I got in my hands it felt heavy and promising! =)

The speakers was a bit smaller than I remembered then but after replacing the twice as large old speakers I had no doubts about their capacity.

I like the bright yellow composite material in the main speakers. By the way it's a pair of Creative GIGAWORKS T20 Series II speakers. Almost regret I didn't spend a few extra bucks to get the T40 with dual main speakers...
The power supply looks like a small nuclear reactor and almost as heavy!The bass really only kicks in when playing music loud but if I keep the speakers at work that might be a good thing. :)

Minimalistic..

Another song heard on Swedish radio P3, First Aid Kit with You're Not Coming Home Tonight. Hard to believe it's live! :)


Not exactly the kind of music I usually listen to but this made me stop and listen, even more impressed they pull it off with just two instruments and their voices!

Kraftwerk booked!

15th of August, Denmark, Randers, Vaerket, one outdoor concert with Kraftwerk booked!

Kraftwerk på Værket i Randers Ugen
Legendariske Kraftwerk giver koncert på Værket lørdag 15. august kl. 22.30. Koncerten med de tyske elektro-pionerer bliver opført på Værkets udendørsarealer mellem de historiske bygninger i det gamle kraftværk. Der bliver plads til 5.600 publikummer.

Den unikke ”Kraftwerk am Kraftværk”oplevelse begynder kl. 20.00 med special guests, og ca. kl. 22.30 vil Kraftwerk indtage scenen med deres sublime koncert med effekter for alle sanser.

Perhaps this time there won't be a ginormous air duct vent that rattle in the same beat as the base! ;)

Some time until then but nice to have something to look forward to! :)

Wasting time...

Just saw the movie Spun, the move had totally gone me by, was looking for Paola with the song Above the candystore and there was a reference to Spun. Turned out it's directed by Jonas Åkerlund and he seems to gather a lot of well know and some less well knows actors in this movie. It was released in 2002. Don't know where I was when it was announced..


Apparently, according to IMDB the move includes over 5000 edits and that is a record!
Being a music video editor sure has some drawbacks. =)

Lots of Swedish references, the most bizarre is when they leave a truck stop and you hear some Swedish dance band music!



It was a at times really good but some times it was like a parody, perhaps it was on purpose and made me laugh out loud a few times. =)

Also saw the latest Futurama movie - Into The Wild Green Yonder, the fourth and last one of the announced movies. One of the better ones!



I hope all four will be released in one box soon!

Ye olde tune

Having a bad cold right now and not being able to do anything physical I found my self googling on old Atari ST games and remembered a game with a jester that had a tune that I liked, this was perhaps 1988 or 1989, only 20 years ago. =)

After some hardcore powergoogling I managed to find out that the game was called Black Lamp and the character you played was called Jack the Jester. Never finished the game, which was pretty difficult if I remember correctly but the tune got stuck in my mind.

After I found out the games name I could find the title tune on YouTube but still couldn't find the tune I remembered.

After yet some more googling I located the Atari ST YM2149 archive After downloading the whole archive and unpacking it I had to find a player and there was a link to WinJAM (Just Another Music player). Works great, small and nimble!

Lo and behold, the second track was the tune I was looking for! Wanted to put the tune on the net but didn't know how to 'rip' the music so I started to look for a audio ripper that could rip music directly from the sound card.

Found s software that I think I have used some time before OpD2d. After installing it I noticed that there was a red dot in the JAM-player, after pressing it I could make a WAV-file directly from JAM!! Doh! :)

While looking for the tune on YouTube it turned out that the tune was based on "Greensleeves" also called "What child is this". When thinking about it I suppose I have heard it sometime.
