Sunsets...

We got a nice sunset this evening. Left work, went straight home to picked up my camera and gear and drove to a lake nearby called Väsman and managed to shoot a few photos before the sun set completely. Got home and processed some HDR-images of some of the shots.

All taken with Nikon D90 and Sigma 10-20mm lens. Had the camera on my Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod and took around 7-8 shots with different exposures and processed the images in Photomatix. Final touch-up in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

I hope they don't look too exaggerated?

I was right!

I knew it! Posted some 'doodles' earlier that I had made during work meetings to keep me awake, seems like it's now proved that doodling makes you more alert during meetings and such.

"Doodling may look messy, but it could in fact be a sign of an alert mind, a study suggests.

Plymouth University researchers carried out memory tests on 40 volunteers, asking them to listen to a phone call and recall names and places.

Doodlers performed 29% better than non-doodlers, the team found.

Experts said doodling stopped people from daydreaming, which was a more taxing diversion, and so was good at helping people focus on mundane tasks."

Space Invaders IRL!

Lots of music videos lately but here's another one. Heard Röyksopp's "Happy Up Here" on radio but never saw the video until now. Really like it! Both the tune AND specially the video. :)

Pug snowride in UK

coastkid71 has a new video on his site, riding the Pugsley in UK, in snow! :)

Great music as usual and some fun angles on the shots, like the ones where you can see snow thrown in the air from the Endomorphs!

Might as well post this one too just so I easily can play it just for the wonderful and trippy music in the video, which I already made a post about. Brooklyn to Kingston by Vancouver band Phontaine

Time to hit the bed again..

Treat me!

Pastry of the day. After the sushi we went to the local cafe, spoiled my self with a glazed doughnut and to my surprise it was filled with vanilla cream! Deadly delicious! ;)

The red "dot" in the middle was a strawberry chocolate filled with chili fudge, should have skipped that one...

K.I.S.S. tune...

Just heard this on the radio (P3) and did a search on youtube, sometimes a tune is better without a video but I post it anyway. ;)

Skipping the bento...

It's sushi at "normal" time and day again but I think I will order a regular medium one.

Talking about sushi, how can anyone eat sushi as cute as this?! ;)

February at its finest!

It has been somewhat cold and gloomy weather the past weeks but the last two days the temperature has gone up above zero! Today is was warm even in the morning ans about noon the sun bursted through the clouds!

Decided to get out an hour during lunch...

Gammelgården.
Some one elses tracks in the snow.
My tracks in the snow.
Wohoo! Hard packed snow!
Let's roll down!

A short pause after a 'derailing'.
View backwards.
Time to get going again.
Ahhh! Such nice weather for once!
Over the bridge, met a boy with a Norwegian 'Bear dog' puppy, looked exactly like my fathers 'Karelian Bear dog' looked when it was a puppy! ;)
Avoided the ski tracks.
Ah, well, back home soon...
I want to bike more, I don't want to go in!!
Some ice build up on the pedals, perhaps I should have taken my 'SPD' shoes and not my regular winter boots.. Well, too late now that I were done.

The rest of the day in the office felt a bit better!

Oh, almost forgot the video:

(Hopefully youtube will process the video and it will look better in a while. (HD-version available!))

Beard song...

Having a beard how can one resist a girl who sings like this?! :)

Next order..

Found a review on a new sci-fi book on BoingBoing. Definitely my next book purchase!

Bruce Sterling's The Caryatids sounds very interesting, it's a 'post apocalyptic' story taking place after a global warming catastrophic. Apparently it's not a pessimistic book but more about how technology might help combat the climate changes.

The reviewer sounds ecstatic about the book. :)
Have to looks up more works from this Bruce Sterling...

Electro plague?

Once again my electric stuff seems to be hit by some kind of electronic plague, two of my devices has stopped working. On my lunch I went home and I had lost my Internet connection, called the help desk since I thought there was something wrong with the modem but finally we concluded that it was the network socket in my PC that was the problem... *Gaharg!*

Wonder what will go next? My new flat screen monitor? My camera? My phone?

Strange that these breakdown occur at the same time, a few years ago I went through the same scenario, think it was my microwave oven that gave in first, not long after that my TV broke down and if i remember correctly there was something more that broke down during that same period!

Perhaps it's a flu and the virus is spread by electrons? Or perhaps there is a outbreak of fat electrons on the electrical grid? ;)

Eyeballing...

Never thought I would be interested in a Samsung camera but the new TL320 (WB100) sure looks promising.

Some good stuff:
- 24-120mm lens (5x zoom)
- Full manual mode!
- RAW output!
- 30fps HD-video
- Dual IS
- hVGA AMOLED-display!
- Good looking
- 60fps movie mode (Only 320x200 though)

Less good stuff:
- No optical viewfinder (The OLED-screen saves this a bit)
- Weatherproofing
- No clue about speed or IQ yet.
- Price? ( £299 in UK)

Detailed specifications on DP review: http://www.dpreview.com/
Looks quite compact too.
Like those analogue gauges!
Massive screen on the back.

Let's hope there will be some review out soon...

Work, work, work...

Nice set of workplace related photos from all over the world, very good!

Check out the other entries too, prepare yourself to be browsing for a while... =)

Revenge..

(Update)
Revenge or retribution seems to be a returning theme in Quentin Tarantino's movies and Inglourious Basterds seems to be no exception.

He also seems to continue his ultra violent path. I'm glad he's doing movies and not something else! Well, that could perhaps be said about many writers too, like Stephen King or Dean R. Koontz. ;)

The trailer looks promising and I'm looking forward to the next flick from Quentin!

Found this on IMDB while reading some of the comments, no clue if it's true or not, funny story anyway about the misspelling in the title :

"In the German Magazine `FilmSpiele SuperSpass` Quentin Tarrantino gave an interview. There he said that the reason that Inglourious is spelled with an extra `u` was because back when he worked in the videostore the storeowner had the original inglorious bastards in his computer file but it was spelled wrong, it was spelled inglourious. Because of that every customer who wanted to see the movie was sent home because the computer couldn`t find the movie, because the titles didn`t relate (Its years and years ago and search engines needed exact title entries otherwise they couldn`t find the movie/whatever). So Quentin worked there and he begged the storeowner to order the original inglorious bastards but the store owner told tarrantino that the movie was already in. So, after that, Quentin filed through all the books to see if the owner actually ordered it. As he said it took him 3 days of going threw the books after he found it. So that for him was evidence that he movie should be in the store somewhere. On the fourth day he searched the store and finally found it. It was in a black (no print or nothing) vcr box, thatswhy it was hard to find. So after that he always knew that IF the movie would be made, he would pay hommage to his 4 day search expedition to watch the movie.

There you have it! "

Sketchy...

Were browsing through files on my computer looking for photos of me when I weighted less than 80kg and in the process I found these old 'sketches' I made, way, way back in time, on the big spaceship there is a mark, -93!!

Well, here's a list of some of them with a small description.

Some kind of all-terrain military vehicle, not totally unlike the 'Warthog' in Halo, just ten years earlier! =)
Another car, a futuristic one.
A blobbish space ship, I usually did them more angular looking.
A cluster of small spaceships, spaceshiplings.. :)

This one is probably the one I'm most pleased with, thinking about model it in some 3D-software, just have to figure out how I visioned it in three dimensions. ;)
Personal carrier, for short space travels.
A V-TOL capable air/space-ship.
Fast ship.
Armed to the max, small warship.
The space banana?
A somewhat regular looking car. Remember being very pleased with this one.
Another futuristic looking car.
A over the top futuristic looking 'car'.

That was the ones worth posting. Wish I had the inspiration and time to sketch now a days, guess my mind don't work the same way anymore. ;)

Iceing..

The recent weather with temperatures above zero Celsius have produced these works of art outside work.

Interesting to see if they will keep growing or if someone will break them...
