More decay...
A few more shots processed. Still same abandoned land area in Grängesberg.
The old electrical station, must have been a impressive sight when it was new.

This must have been some workers building. I think, must read up on the history of old Grängesberg. =)

One more abandoned car. Looks American or at least inspired by american cars with chrome trims on the roof and a dollar grin.

Full Bohemian HD Rhapsody
Full (should be 1080p) HD on top and regular on the bottom. My computer at work is too weak to play with full frame but I think it will embed correct. Click the video otherwise to get to YouTube where you can toggle between 720p and 1080p modes.

Borlänge by bike...
Got an SMS yesterday asking if I was interested in some biking on Sunday, were eating at the moment so I suppose my mind wasn't as razor sharp it usually is so I answered "yes".
This was the result:
It became almost a 40km ride around Borlänge "slätten", very nice roads and scenery!
There was some moist in the air when I left Ludvika, had to visit Kupolen first and buy new pants to keep me somewhat dry after I forgot the old ones in the broom car after the Tour de Retard. Ended up spending way more than planned but the soft pants felt super! Hopefully they will last as long as the previous ones.
Anyway, after coming out from the mall the rain was pouring down! Yeay...
Well, buy the time we started the ride, the rain had ended and it took all the way back to Borlänge before it started again so considering the rain threat it was totally ok! :)
Biking on roads is dirty business! Had to buy me a pair of fenders at Biltema, thought it could be worth 29:90:- :)
After the bike we ended up at the Greek restaurant with both FruSomfan, AlfSomfan and Robert, bumped in to Robert at Jula, where I bought a pair of hooks for hanging up bikes on the wall (more about that later) and he asked if there were any interest to eat after the bike ride.
Good thing I ordered a extra stick with grilled chicken! Very tasty! :)
Another nice Sunday spent!
Unfortunately I only managed to track about half the ride with the GPS, somehow I had put the sportsTracker on pause. Here's the plot anyway:

Some shots from Saturday, made a visit to the old mining area in Grängesberg. Took ALOT of photos, will take some time to process...
Well, here's a few "teasers" until then. :)

Who called?!
Got a call from a unknown 08-number (Stockholm) decided to check it on www.eniro.se but it was not registered, did a google search and ended up on this site VemRingde.se and there I could read it was a telemarketing firm that Comhem uses. I do NOT want to talk to them.

Glad I found the Vemringde site, will probably use them again if I get calls from unregistered telephone numbers!

Decay...
Spent part of the Sunday to drive around Grängesberg and visit some of the less attractive parts of the village. Visited three different areas. Here's a few "teasers". ;)
I'll be posting more later...
First I was to Källfallet then to Öraberget.
After that I drove up to "Västra".

Well, I went to a fourth place at the mining museum, some nice buildings and vehicles there.

The grey weather sure did it's part to give that gloomy look to the photos.

le papillon d'hiver...
Seems like the heat from the sauna managed to wake up a sleeping butterfly! This fellow was flying around in the basement, had to go and grab the camera to take some photos as proof! :)

New shiny parts!
Finally I got my parcel from Chain Reaction Cycles! The order was shipped the 3:rd this month and I got it today, on Friday 13:th, ten days later...
4m of Shimano XT outer cable.
Two Shimano XT cable inner wire.
One rear Shimano XT M770 rear shifter pod.
One Shimano XT M770 11-32 cassette.
One Shimano XT Rear Derailleur Shadow M772 GS Medium Cage

A pair of Formula ORO disc pads.
A Shimano XT Disc Hub Rear M756 36h Black 6-Bolt, that was supposed to be a 32h.. Have to get it exchanged.
Finally, three 120ml bottles with Finnish Line wet lubricant, might come handy now that the winter is approaching too fast! =)
All and all for ~2700:- Sek, and everything came in a disappointingly small package! Two of the Finnish Line bottles had leaked in the box, luckily the caps were in place, but just almost!
Too bad I can't start building until I get the 36hole hub exchanged to a 32hole. :(

Winter flavour...
As as stupid consumer I fell for the oldes trick in the Book, a new flavour!
Winter Chocolate with caramelised cocoa nibs, clove and spice flavours (cardamon, pepper, ginger, cinnamon and vanilla)

Tastes like gingerbread cookies!

Temporary House owner...
I'm keeping an eye on my parents house while my mom is on vacation. It really time consuming to keep it warm using wood based heating and not to forget, keeping the dog happy with food and taking walks with her in the pitch black night!
Having access to a sauna and all the space is nice though!
Perhaps I'll bring my bike here for taking it for a spin in my childhood neighborhood... :)
Did I mention I only have the free tv channels available?

2:nd trailer...
A slightly more understandable trailer for Avatar is released, the CGI-scenes still look a bit artificial but perhaps that is intentional...
Let's hope there is a good story behind all that eyecandy! =)

First contact...
This morning the ground was covered here and there with white spots of snow. First snow after the summer, can't say I like it but it was a opportunity to go and field test my new Franken-Fenders!
Ugly as hell but they did their work, one drawback though, my floor in the hall is really wet after the snow has melted from the fenders...
Managed to make a minor "bail-out-accident" on the slippery snow and hit some sensitive parts in the groin area. *ouch*
Had to take some macro photos while waiting for the pain to settle...

Droid droool...
Looks like Motorola managed to do something right for once and that in a very impressive way!
Can't wait to get my hands on one to try it out.
Stealthy commercial... :)

1x4x4
The phone woke me up this morning, a college wondered if I was interested to go and watch off road cars in Björnhyttan. I thought they already did that yesterday in Saturday but apparently it was today! It's a event organized by Ludvika Motorsällskap.
I've missed at least two of the previous off road days so I was happy to go!
As usually I shot some photos:
Album with 1024pix wide photos here:
Used the Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 while it still was some light available, most photos in the first steep climb was taken with the Sigma 10-20mm, when the light really got bad I used the Nikkor 18-105mm VR, it really saved the day when the exposure times dropped way below 1/60sec! Well ISO 1600 did it's part too. =)
Chances are that there will be a second visit next year, 2x4x4...
