Stone to open a Brewery in Europe?
Stone to open a Brewery in Europe? from stonebrew on Vimeo.
This is a very exciting project for Steve and me…and all of us at Stone Brewing. We’re going to be learning quite a bit with this endeavor, first and foremost: Will we be welcome? We’re approaching this with no assumptions other than we’d like to consider any and all options (other than having our beers contract brewed by another brewery, as that’s simply not our style). Many of the countries of Europe have great brewing traditions. Some countries are also currently experiencing a bit of a resurgence of small, independent (and independent thinking) breweries. As anyone knows that has visited the Stone Brewing Co. and our attached restaurant – the Stone World Bistro & Gardens – where we have more Guest taps than we do of Stone, we enjoy sharing the camaraderie of great craft beers. We look forward to joining in the fight in Europe by doing our part to add to the growing trend towards unique, flavorful artisanal beers, as opposed to the mass-blandification efforts characterized by megabrand sameness!

Bird vs. Berry
Decided to defy the cold for a few minutes and went out with my D90 with the 80-200mm/f2.8 and a flash, snapped a bunch of photos and two of them came out pretty good, a pity the last one was a bit blurry...

The berrys went down in a fast pace. :)

Cold, both inside and outside...
To pass the time I have been watching movies, worked my way through:
-2012
-Inglorious Basterds
-National Geographic Mountain Bike, Freeride in BC
-Zombieland
-Cloudy with a chance of meatballs
-Transformers, the revenge of the Fallen... ;)
Between the movies I have been editing some photos from this summer to get some variation.
These from a Happyride in Gotheburg, Vättlefjäll May 5, 2009:

Alien avatar...
I tried to keep my expectations low on this movie but some where back in my mind I suppose I expected to see a great sci-fi movie and despite that, my expectations were full filled, sure there were moments that might been unnecessary long or rewarding it was well worth the money! And even if the message of the movie is a bit obvious the story is quite good.
Actually most impressed by how well the movements was on all the CGI, the "humans" and the animals were amazing. That's usually what's hardest to get right and what in most cases makes or brakes if you believe what you see, so to say. Looking forward to see it again and that's the best grade I can give it. ;)

By installing it on your computer you contribute to calculate the amazing visuals it displays on the screen when activated.
Their web page seems a bit over loaded right now though... ;)

Bilss in the Blizz
On Tuesday I took an extra hour during lunch to make a short (really short) ride on the snow. It was no picnic, had to work hard for every meter on the trails. :)
There was a light snow fall when I got out.

The tele makes it look like there is more snow in the air than there actually was.

Made it down on to the ice but there was no chance it would carry my weight so I skipped biking straight over the 'pond'. ;)

I used ISO 1200 and I think I might over sharpened the image slightly, the spokes looks strange...

Didn't manage to be first out on the fresh snow...

Even the less used trail was "disturbed".

The wet areas was covered with snow and had not yet frozen.

The small stream was flowing too.

Looks almost like a mirror running through the forest.

Plowing through the snow...

On the other side of the pond.

profile shot, think the bike by now were a few kilos heavier. ;)

A final photo over another lake, did a small de tour to lenghten the ride slightly, as seen on the GPS-plot.
